Discover SSME for Transporter Research
If you’re working with solute carriers or membrane transporters, this is a great opportunity to explore Solid Supported Membrane-based Electrophysiology (SSME).
Unlike traditional patch clamp, SSME:
- Does not require living cells
- Works with proteoliposomes, membrane vesicles, or native preparations
- Is particularly suited for low-turnover transporters
Instead of applying a voltage, SSME uses rapid solution exchange to create substrate gradients, driving transport activity.
