Scaffolded DNA origami was used to create a stem that penetrates and spans a lipid membrane, and a barrel-shaped cap that adheres to the membrane in part via 26 cholesterol moieties. In single-channel electrophysiological measurements, we find similarities to the response of natural ion channels, such as conductances on the order of 1 nS and channel gating. More pronounced gating was seen for mutations in which a single DNA strand of the stem protruded into the channel. In single-molecule translocation experiments, we highlight one of many potential applications of the synthetic channels, namely as single DNA molecule sensing devices.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","products_tags":[98],"resource_type":[75],"application_areas":[99],"therapeutic_areas":[],"target_categories":[341],"target_families":[347],"targets":[100],"resource_keyword":[],"class_list":["post-4903","resource_library","type-resource_library","status-publish","hentry","products_tags-orbit-16-tc","resource_type-publication","application_areas-pores-and-toxins","target_categories-pores-and-toxins","target_families-pore-forming-toxins-and-antibiotics","targets-alpha-hemolysin"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/nanion.com\/zh-hans\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/resource_library\/4903","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/nanion.com\/zh-hans\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/resource_library"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/nanion.com\/zh-hans\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/resource_library"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/nanion.com\/zh-hans\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=4903"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"products_tags","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nanion.com\/zh-hans\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/products_tags?post=4903"},{"taxonomy":"resource_type","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nanion.com\/zh-hans\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/resource_type?post=4903"},{"taxonomy":"application_areas","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nanion.com\/zh-hans\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/application_areas?post=4903"},{"taxonomy":"therapeutic_areas","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nanion.com\/zh-hans\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/therapeutic_areas?post=4903"},{"taxonomy":"target_categories","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nanion.com\/zh-hans\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/target_categories?post=4903"},{"taxonomy":"target_families","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nanion.com\/zh-hans\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/target_families?post=4903"},{"taxonomy":"targets","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nanion.com\/zh-hans\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/targets?post=4903"},{"taxonomy":"resource_keyword","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nanion.com\/zh-hans\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/resource_keyword?post=4903"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
