About the Cure CLCN4 Scientific Conference
CLCN4-related neurodevelopmental condition (CLCN4-NDC) is a rare genetic disorder caused by mutations in the CLCN4 gene, which encodes the ClC-4 chloride/proton exchanger. The condition can lead to intellectual disability, epilepsy, movement disorders, and other neurological symptoms. Although much remains unknown about ClC-4 biology and disease mechanisms, the research community has grown rapidly in recent years. The conference brings together scientists, clinicians, and families to share new discoveries, discuss disease models and therapeutic approaches, and strengthen collaborations aimed at developing future treatments.
